A creative advertising agency is looking for a Head of Technology for the digital team. It is a client facing digital tech strategy role requiring good technical knowledge across a broad range of the digital marketing mix.

This is an independent creative agency of 50 people based in Soho. They are an integrated creative agency with a successful track record putting them in the upper rankings of top advertising agency and digital agency listings. It’s a lively, friendly, creative Soho agency environment. Most have been there a long time, it is an enjoyable place to work.

They continue to cover traditional channels of TV, Print and Radio, but have attracted strong digital talent to embrace all digital communications: websites, rich media advertising, branded content and social media. The agency needs to grow the digital team further.

They have a good variety of clients including charities, high street retail brands, alcohol brands, consumer brands and more.

They are looking for a client facing tech lead who comes from a technical back ground. Someone who has strong technical knowledge, or even a web developer who has always enjoyed being client facing from conception, brief, scope to delivery. Ideally they are after someone from a hands-on development background with solid technical knowledge who has either moved over to be a client facing project manager or a digital account manager.

You will need to have good presentation and written communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to clients about technical solutions without the use of jargon. You would effectively be acting as an internal consultant working alongside the account management teams across all areas of the business, but may not necessarily have clients of your own. You would act as the conduit between account management and technical delivery, although not in a project management role. You will be the “go to” person for all things digital.

Functional and/or technical documentation experience and the ability to contribute to digital strategy proposals are required. The sort of projects that this role is involved in will range from website design and build, though to online display advertising, social media, eCRM and organic SEO.
