This eight person social media / digital team are within a 50 person communications agency. This agency in turn is in a building of 220 people who work within other agencies in The Group. These other agencies in The Group are also some of the most notorious creative agencies in the industry. So there is a lot of high profile campaign work across The Group that this Social Media / Digital Account Director role is brought in to develop social media and digital work for. You will work along-side media and advertising agencies.
Clients are the biggest brands across most sectors. Big consumer brand experience is most desirable for this role, although the role will have a great range of clients. Campaigns are mostly international.
Digital output covers the whole spectrum of digital channels; building social communities, websites, viral videos, mobile apps, blogger events, physical events with social and digital visual twists and everything else digital.
There is a digital project manager in the team who oversees anything digital that needs to be delivered.
So good strategy and creative ideas are key. However, at AD level here it is still all hands on deck with day to day client contact and effectively fully owning your own projects and clients. As a Social Media / Digital Account Director you are running your own business, but in a great team.
